Smartmessages was launched in 2003 and we quickly picked up work with the Telegraph, giving us a great kick start

Over time, as we won new business, we have continually developed the service by working on our own development road map, as well as with our clients.

Smartmessages is now a mature service, offering tools specifically designed for web developers and agencies to make life easy.

Our consumer offering allows non technical people to use the service with minimal training.

Our servers are based in the Docklands, London and also at Cambridge.
We have plenty of redundancy built in, so we have barely had any downtime in years.

We continue to work on new projects with our clients and will keep on releasing new and exciting features. Here comes the future!

Andrew Mann has worked as a hardware engineer for Cray Super Computers and then as an Apple and Compaq engineer, where he serviced the technical needs of graphic designers in the media industry.

In 1997, Andrew teamed up with Marcus to develop e-marketing and digital educational projects for the BBC, ITV, and Hewlett Packard, and others. Together, they are a formidable alliance for delivering digital media projects.

Marcus Bointon gained his MSc in interactive computer design at Loughborough University of Technology, where in 1994 he was awarded the only distinction for his thesis, and a BSc in Computer Science and Digital Electronics from King’s College London.

Marcus’s technical knowledge, industry exposure, and programming skills are second-to-none. He currently runs a couple of SourceForge projects for Skype internet phone service and PHP QuickTime support and is an occasional visitor (and speaker) to the PHP London user group.
