The Smartmessages system is developed and managed by Synchromedia limited. It’s a mature system, first launched in 2003. Smartmessages is under constant development – we’re always striving for better usability, compatibility, data protection, standards compliance, reliability and performance. You can run our service through the web site or using our API (Application Programming Interface).
The API lets you build a completely automated system. Smartmessages is developed entirely in-house, and hosted on our own servers in the UK.

For those that like technical info: Smartmessages is written in PHP 5.3 running on Apache on Ubuntu Linux.
Database services are provided by MySQL and memcached. Mail services are handled by GreenArrow. All our servers use low power processors and solid state disks for maximum performance and lowest energy consumption.
At the core of Smartmessages is PHPMailer, an open source email class that we’ve maintained for several years that’s probably used for sending more email than any other code in the world!
